NAPSICO is offering an update training class for emergency response Designated Infection Control Officers (DICOs) on March 10, 2026 from 8 am – 12 p.m. EST live online. This class, presented by Katherine West (RN, MSEd, BSN, DICO-C) and James R. Cross, JD, is designed to update DICOs who have not had training in the past 3–5 years. Many important changes will be covered, including post-exposure medical follow-up protocols; OSHA State Plan status; risk for contracting bloodborne pathogens; new multi-drug resistant organisms of concern; rapid tests currently available; new hepatitis vaccine; new universal testing guidelines from CDC; update on COVID-19 work restrictions and variants; and medical transport-associated infections.
